This weekend was scheduled to be hot and humid, but that didn't deter mom and me from wanting to go to Windmill Fest. It's our tradition, heat be damned. Our first stop was to be the farmers market, so I grabbed a big ice pack from the freezer and stuck it in my cold bag in my trunk. Last year's Windmill Fest was canceled; this year's got moved from mid-July to end of August for unknown reasons. Mom's theory has to do with when we moved into Phase 5 and how perhaps it was too soon to confirm performers and workers and things for the normal timeframe. This day did not bode well--I woke up to rain. Well, I woke up about 3 AM, couldn't go to sleep for a couple hours, then woke up shivering violently. What was that about? Today ended up being a perfect day to attend a festival--warm, sunny, just overall pleasant. Mom and I left about 9:40 and, by the time we parked and walked over, it was close enough to the start of the pet parade at 10 that I didn't want to do anything else.
